Framed-Arts Review & Giveaway – $275 VALUE! (Ends 6/26)

Submitted by on May 29, 2009 – 12:21 PM293 Comments

You know those photo commercials where all those people are begging not to be deleted because they are stuck in the camera since the owner has yet to print them out. Well that is me! I am awful at printing photos. I take pictures like crazy and back them up on my computer, and with technology I look at it like I have the pictures on my computer, iPod Touch, and phone. Then I look around at my walls and my family members walls and I feel terrible. I have hardly any pictures up of my boys and the ones that I do are old! (Like the birth picture of my son who is now 11 months old!)

The problem I have with pictures is that I am not creative and when it comes to framing I am clueless. One person who knows what she is doing is Treasure Phillips. Treasure started a family owned business called Framed-Arts, which she operates with her husband. They started their custom frame shop more than 30 years ago. What I like most about Framed-Arts is that is owned by Treasure and Jim, and they are the ones who create your custom framed art. Since they are the owners and workers, they care both about the quality and craftsmanship of the frames.

Features of Framed-Arts:

• Only solid wood frames are used

• Only acid-free Crescent mats are used. Crescent is respected as a leading supplier of quality acid free mats for the art and framing community.

• They offer ‘decorative cut’ mat corners so you have more choices.

• Everything is customizable.

• If you have questions or concerns, you will be working directly with Jim or Treasure.

• You can purchase separate components, such as frame, mat, glazing or a combination.

• Frame is assembled from start to finish by an experienced custom framer in a traditional frame shop.

• Easy online program to virtually customize the frame and see each step.

When I was contacted by Treasure and asked if I wanted to try out her service and get a picture framed, I was intimidated at first. I mean what did I know about framing a picture and then I had to pick a picture to use! Well I am more than impressed with how easy it was and all the different options I got to choose.

Easy Steps:

• Upload your photo or scanned art

• Select from available sizes

• Use the custom framing tool and ‘Virtually’ frame your picture

Here are a few screen shots so you can see just how easy it is after you upload your picture:

Now I uploaded my photo and went through the process, but like I said I am clueless when it comes to framing pictures so I decided to give Treasure creative decision over what to do with my picture. We emailed back and forth and she is an artist! She was so professional, friendly, and easy to work with and the outcome was more than I could have ever imagined.

Here is what my finished frame looks like:

I received this frame right after Mother’s Day and I actually teared up with how beautiful it looks. I was impressed with how solid and durable the black frame is, how nicely the mat coordinates, and how neat it is that it says ‘Brothers.’ It is also sealed in the back so I can’t change out the picture, and so air won’t get in and damage the picture.

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with how my entire experience has gone and I highly recommend Framed-Arts. Treasure was wonderful to work with, patient with my indecisiveness, and her work is impeccable. At Framed-Arts, you can also purchase specific prints from the categories: Artists, Art Styles, and Subjects. Best of all for US and Canada, she offers FREE Shipping on all your orders!

Treasure has generously offered one lucky reader a chance to customize their own photo and frame, which is up to a $275 value!
