Neither of my sons have been interested in books yet, I try but they push the book aside. So I am challenged to find books they will enjoy and I will enjoy too since I am the one reading it! I have found that they really enjoy books that rhyme and are colorful. Well “Sleepy Sun” by Mari Priscilla Hanson offers both, rhyming and colorful illustrations.

Sleepy Sun is a soft cover children’s book about the sun coming out and then at the end it goes to sleep. It is such a cute story and the illustrations are really amazing. I read in the back that the illustrator used acrylic paint to showcase the story in this full color picture book. Every page has a full-page picture and my sons really liked them! Now even though this book is 26 pages long, it is a very quick read, perfect to read before bed. Each page has only 1 or 2 sentences that rhyme and the story flows very well.

Homeschool magazine also featured it:

I enjoyed this book and I really think my sons did too. It is perfect for boys and girls of all races and even though it says it is for ages 4-8, my little guys smiled when I read it. The only part I would change is I would prefer a hardcover for durability purposes, as my boys are rough on books. Overall, this is a great bedtime classic!
