Buying a Barbeque Grill

Submitted by on February 18, 2010 – 11:02 AMNo Comment

Since I have been dreaming about creating the ultimate backyard experience, it would not be complete without a fabulous barbecue grill. Now honestly I don’t know anything when it comes to a grill, but I do know that you don’t want a cheap one. My husband and I are actually on our third grill in five years. When I think of what we paid for those three grills it kills me to think that I could have bought a really nice, yet expensive, grill that would have lasted.

For whatever reason we keep buying the cheapest grills out there and they rust and fall apart way too quickly. I mean a grill is like a piece of furniture in my mind and should last at least 5+ years. My husband though is not the greatest at using a grill cover, so I know part of the problem is us not taking care of it like we should be.

Now that I have been shopping around for a nice grill, I noticed that there are actually a whole bunch to choose from, all in various styles and options. I would absolutely love a built in grill into a brick mantel, but since that is way over our budget, I think I will have to keep dreaming! It would be nice though and look beautiful set in stone.

The common style most people choose is the basic freestanding grill. These grills vary in prices, but allow you to move the grill around, take it with you, and just be more flexible with options and prices. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a freestanding grill, and that is the model we will be buying in the next few months. This model is also great for the everyday griller who doesn’t need anything too fancy, but still wants certain options!
