Disney Social Media Moms: Day 3

Submitted by on February 23, 2010 – 12:32 PMOne Comment

First thing Thursday morning I had to catch a bus over to Epcot for a Disney Moms breakfast and to hear from Guy Kawasaki. He is the co-founder of Alltop.com, author, former Apple employee, and Twitter expert! He was funny, insightful, and really showed us how to use Twitter to network and get more visitors to our blogs.

Next we headed over to listen to a media announcement about Disney’s “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day.” I was surprised that just over 600,000 people have already volunteered or made a commitment so far! They were acknowledging a volunteer from each state and showing off all the canned goods that were donated. The canned goods actually made it to the Gusiness Book of World Records for being the largest display and it showed off an awesome display of the Disney characters! Oh and this announcement included Disney officials, Kermit the Frog, and Ty Pennington! I think it is a great way for people to give back to their community and save a little money on vacation!  Then there was a huge event planned where families could donate some time, for example while planting a tree at Epcot.

The rest of the day I met up with my family over at Hollywood Studios and we quickly tackled all those rides and shows. Aidan loved the “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” playset and of course the new Toy Story 4D game ride! I loved the scenery of a being on a movie set and even though I had been on Tower of Terror before, it still was a rush!

For dinner we headed back over to Epcot for a special private show from none other than Joe Jonas and Demi Levato! Now I know who they are because I have a 12 year old sister, but basically they are super popular tween Disney actors. They sang their new song for the Disney channel, which was pretty cool because it is not even out yet! My sister was super excited about Demi, not so much for Joe as he is apparently not the cute one. The show was great though, and the food was incredible, I just wish it wasn’t so cold since this was all outside.

Here is a clip of their performance, sorry the quality is not the greatest:

Mama’s Money Savers Disclaimer:  Thanks to Mom Select, 5 Minutes for Mom, and Disney, I received a sweetheart deal (discounted package price) for this conference and in turn received Disney goodies and attended great conference sessions.
