iPhone & iPod Touch App Review & Giveaway: “But That Wasn’t the Best Part” – 3 Winners (Ends 3/30)
ABOUT THE APP:
Come to the Grand Parade of the International Banana Festival! Join the noisy crowd watching a police car roll past, its siren blaring. Watch a drill team march along, a festival princess waving to the crowd, and people in banana bonnets walking by. Hear the music of a marching band, the clang-clang of a fire engine, and the toot-toot-puff-puff of a little train. Dance along with the Latin band and pretend to zoom around in tiny cars with the clowns!
Young children, parents, teachers, and librarians love this story because even the youngest listeners can participate in its telling. They love to say, “But that wasn’t the best part,” as they make their way to the mouth-watering surprise ending.
Features:
• You choose to read the story OR
• Have the story read to you.
• Music and delightful sound effects make the story come to life.
• Touch the screen to play the sound effects separately.
• Age: 3+

MY REVIEW:
I think this interactive book is adorable. I love that you can click on 1-3 parts of the screen for additional sound effects, which is Aidan’s favorite part! The narrator also has a great voice for narrating a children’s book and his speed is just right for kids. The pictures and graphics throughout the story are very colorful and neat looking, and the story is actually quite long. There is a police car, fire engine, train, parade scenes, and so much going on in this cute story about what happens at a parade. It is super easy to navigate this book as you just slide the screen for the next page and just click on the dark black words for sound effects. You can also turn off the narrator, if you would like. Overall, I think this App is adorable for both boys and girls of all ages!

Thank you for reviewing “But That Wasn’t the Best Part.” As you said, one of the fun things kids like to do, in addition to hearing the story, is play the sound effects. They could even make up their own story using the sounds from this app! Check out our other apps at http://www.ReadingRhino.com. Our apps will be available for the iPad, too!
We play games. Tons – like SpongeBob, Rats, monkey bash. It’s the best way to keep them occupied when waiting.
My kids all three play games (learning) on the iPod. We have puzzles, UNO, shapes and many more!
