Well thanks to MyBlogSpark, I received the new Wanchai Ferry frozen entree – Orange Chicken – to try out. I have never actually purchased Wanchai Ferry before as I have never had good luck with frozen Chinese food. Well their Orange Chicken is delicious! It comes with battered white meat chicken, broccoli, carrots and baby corn in a zesty orange sauce over a bed of jasmine rice. Oh and let me say that the jasmine rice was awesome! The only flaw is that it says it is for 2 people but the packet of chicken you receive is maybe 1-2 small chicken breasts cut up so you may want to add more chicken or cook something in addition to this entrée. For example, I was feeding myself, my husband, my 11 year old sister, my 2 year old and my 1 year old and I made two of these bags and was left with no leftovers. For the cost though it is still cheaper than going to a Chinese restaurant or ordering take out.

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the taste and quality of the ingredients. I loved to how easy it was to cook and that it only took 14 minutes! Not an Orange Chicken fan, try their Shrimp Lo Mein, Spicy Garlic Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, or Sweet & Spicy Shrimp. They all sound yummy to me!

IBW is a new way of reading as it involves first reading an actual print book and then visiting a weblink to find an animation or other multimedia called a webscene. The webscene corresponds with the activity or story you just read and of course they are all fun and educational. So at the end of a chapter you visit the weblink and then go back to reading another chapter and so forth. There are six or more webscenes included in every IBW book. I highly recommend reading this book with a computer nearby, as I know my boys attention span faded if I had to drag them across the house to the computer.

I received two sample IBW books to read and try out, KA Readers and The Busy Preschool Guide to Learning. Now the books I tried out weren’t complete, but they were just right to try out. KA Readers is great for beginning readers and kids who love read-to-me stories. This would be perfect too for homeschooling! There are nine current titles in the series with more in the works. The books are set up to build upon the Five Essential Reading Components of phonetics-based reading programs: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary development, fluency and comprehension. These books I felt were obviously for older kids, so we tended to stick to the Preschoolers Guide.

The Busy Preschoolers Guide to Learning is a preschool curriculum for teaching 105 readiness skills that uses fun, original plays, poems and activities around the entire alphabet. For example, for the letter “A” there is a poem entitled “A is for Air” and then the corresponding activity is a fun way for you and your toddler to play with a balloon. You then can also go to a weblink and view a neat little scene with a bear and floating balloons. So you actually have three ways to enjoy this book: read it, do the activity, and then check it out online.

Overall, Aidan and Gavin did enjoy the computer part the best. I read the book to them and tried the activities/games, but they didn’t really understand how they correlated. The online section was also not as exciting as it could have been. There was no music and it was so simple. Aidan did love the letter part online where you dragged the mouse to basically trace each letter. Oh and for you Spanish speaking parents or even if you are trying to teach your child Spanish, the books also have a Spanish section.

My first thought was that the yogurt would taste bland and be thick, but boy was I wrong! Fiber One yogurt tastes like yogurt should, only better! Best of all it comes in a variety of flavors, including Strawberry, Peach, Vanilla, and Key Lime Pie, because variety is good! So onto the healthy part, which is why were here right!? So not only do you get to enjoy the creamy, delicious taste, but you don’t have to feel guilty!

Well I was sent a whole bunch (actually 6 different packages of their new flavors) and ever since we are hooked. Musselman’s has really added some flavor to apple sauce by introducing Totally Fruit for kids and Healthy Picks for adults. Honestly though I love all the flavors and so does the rest of my family. My 2 year old is actually hooked on the Raspberry Acai!

I actually didn’t even know there was a Broadway play about the 80’s, but Rock of Ages is actually a five-time Tony Award nominated Broadway musical! Oh and for all you American Idol fans, it stars finalist Constantine Maroulis. (I don’t recognize the name, as I remember faces more) The play is set in 1987 in a legendary Sunset Strip rock club, where a small-town girl meets a big city dreamer and they fall in love to the greatest metal songs of the 80’s. (Okay is anyone else singing Journey’s Don’t Stop Belivin’ now other than me?!)

The Rock of Ages CD features 22 songs from the Broadway show, with songs from Bon Jovi, JHourney, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Poision, Whitesnake and more! Now I am not a Broadway play type of person nor do I usually like the corresponding CD’s, but I admit I enjoyed this one. It is a little quirky as some songs have talking in the beginning because it is from a play, and the original artists don’t sing the songs, but it was different. I surprised myself, that I found myself bringing it into the car with me!

So my favorite Back to School memory is school supply shopping. Something about getting fresh and colorful notebooks and folders and pencils, just gets me all excited. I remember how everything had to match and coordinate and then how gently I would use everything the first few weeks of school. I always figured that if I have to use boring old white notebook paper and folders, at least it should be fun to use!
